Antenna

Here you see the base had to do a little mod to it (the gusset in the front there)was a little bit too much flex in the mount which is insulated. This is a clamp arrangement.

A better view of the clamp arrangement

Little bit of custom hardware in the form of 316 stainless ,this forms the whip section at the top

Sun setting over Sheffield

summer time

Well took some time getting round to doing the fire ,actually been using it just for the hot water .This has been a very worth while project ,I recon it has saved me between £2500 and £3000 for the 12 months it has been in ,this equates to 4.5 tanks of gas oil (900l@69p avg) not sure of the price as now but its only going to go up !!
So here's what has happened to the fire , made a quick release hatch to access the chimney and back of boiler

Cut hole to allow smoke to exit thru flu when door is open (being a downdraft is not good when your filling the fire ) Seems to have made things a lot better all-tho not perfect !
View from front ,notice front grill is a little bent 19 mm solid round bar too.
Flue section is now larger having taken the water skin from the outside ,this now meant i had to make a manifold for the outlet to keep the pipe in same place and also take the water from both sides ,however they are still connected via the front so this may be belt and braces.
Boiler back installed here you see the quick release door with over center catches .
Was far easier to install this time with the lugs ,put it right on the spot with fork truck .Last time we walked it in ....doooh !!

Front door also received a second skin on the inside to keep the heat in.Next job is to fit some automation to the air regulation .

Spring time

Well spring is here its been a long winter ,my fire lasted the haul .I have a few tweaks to do ,which i will do shortly .The exhaust to the chimney has too much water jacket so runs far too cool ,making sweeping the chimney every 3 weeks a must .My plan is to take the water jacket off the rear of the chimney and expand the chimney cavity also leaving a door for easy cleaning this winter .I think some insulation will also be used to keep the flue gasses hotter,a rodding eye for the chimney sweep will be a good addition too ,the pipe for the chimney i used is 6inch od with a 10mm wall so it weighs a bit lol .
