The recent storms took there toll on my 80m vertical ,as you can see the tilt on her ...poor thing .I feel an upgrade coming up
Jcb always helps to take the thing down
I use the ladder to get up into bucket to fasten the strop to tower
Scrap shaft ,well not fit for purpose,so its in the lathe having a lick of it ...down to 62mm so it goes inside the mounting post for vertical
Getting there ,took abt 3 hrs to rip it down was 90 mm to start ,seems like a lot of work but a piece of en24 1500 long comes in at a fair price maybe £150
Top was cut off the mounting post (cap was welded on to stop water ingress) You can see the shoulder on the pin as it goes in .This sucker was tight due to the slight bend left in tube ,jcb(5 tonne) wouldn't push it in so hammer was called for ....eventually it met up.Lots of rain and darkness stopped any more pictures,I will take one in day light .
Antenna got put back up in dark ...not something i would recommend ,oh and that wind came too just as it was time to lift it back up ...amazing lol !!!
